In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, New Horizons Academy will be closed at all three campuses—Wauseon, Springfield, and Career Center. There will be no school for students or staff.

Today, we pause to honor the life, legacy, and extraordinary vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose message of love, compassion, equality, and respect continues to inspire generations.

At New Horizons Academy, we believe that every individual deserves to be valued, respected, included, and given the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. Dr. King’s dream of a world where people are recognized for their character rather than their differences reflects the spirit of acceptance and belonging we strive to create within our school community every day.

Our students remind us that our differences do not diminish our worth—they make each of us uniquely extraordinary. Through kindness, understanding, patience, and compassion, we can continue building a world where everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow, contribute, and thrive.

As we observe this meaningful holiday, we encourage our families to reflect on the importance of treating others with dignity, standing up for what is right, and making a positive difference in the lives of those around us.

Because every person matters. Every voice has value. And every act of kindness brings us one step closer to a brighter, more inclusive world.

From all of us at New Horizons Academy, may we continue to honor Dr. King’s legacy not just through our words, but through the love and compassion we show one another every day. 🦅❤️
