Where Kids Come First!
New Horizons Academy’s Wauseon campus is situated on the main Sara’s Garden campus. This central location in the heart of Fulton County, provides close access to surrounding schools and communities we serve and allows for convenient access to numerous area businesses for vocational opportunities and community partnerships.
The Wauseon campus is housed in two buildings; a 16,000 sq. ft. building encompassing classrooms, therapy rooms, a sensory room and large indoor gym serves as the main facility. The school’s large kitchen space comes in handy when teaching our students life skills. An additional 3,300 sq. ft. space is located in the adjacent hyperbaric center and houses additional classrooms as well as our music room and library.
This campus also features Northwest Ohio’s first truly inclusive, handicap accessible playground. At over 19,000 sq. ft., this interactive, sensory rich space helps children with the integration of spatial, gross and fine motor skills, encourages social skill development, and gives the students a fun and motivating way to practice newly learned skills.
To maintain the safety and security of the students we serve, our buildings technology includes a video surveillance system that monitors and records activity in all areas of the facility. The general public has access to the lobby of each campus but the entrance into the actual school itself is locked via a magnetic security system.
All classrooms utilize SmartBoard technology for delivering educational lesson plans. This technology helps our students improve communication skills through group collaboration. It gives our staff the ability to present things visually, and provide ease in creating and altering activities to control students’ learning.
