Northwest Ohio's new home for Special Education
New Horizons Academy’s Springfield campus is situated just off Airport Highway and I475 in Holland, Ohio. This central location provides close access to numerous area businesses for vocational opportunities and community partnerships.
The Springfield campus is housed in a 20,000 sq. ft. building encompassing classrooms, large open spaces, and a sensory room/indoor gym. This campus also has a room that features a BEAM Interactive Projector System. This interactive, movement-based educational tool helps children with the integration of spatial, gross and fine motor skills, encourages social skill development, and gives the students a fun and motivating way to practice newly learned skills.
To maintain the safety and security of the students we serve, our buildings technology includes a video surveillance system that monitors and records activity in all areas of the facility. The general public has access to the lobby of each campus but the entrance into the actual school itself is locked via a magnetic security system.
All classrooms utilize SmartBoard technology for delivering educational lesson plans. This technology helps our students improve communication skills through group collaboration. It gives our staff the ability to present things visually, and provide ease in creating and altering activities to control students’ learning.
